I'm looking for a place to buy face powder for talent. Of course you can buy powder at the local store, but I need something that comes in large bulk and has been developed for filmmakers. I saw a filmmaker using a large container of this one time, but can't find his contact.

Any idea of what I'm talking about?

Call costume shops and ask if they have theatrical or "Ben Nye" makeup.

Ahhh, thank you!

Could it be "Nose powder"?

I will check this out. Thanks for the advice. By the way, i'm a big fan of the danish film style. I'm usually in CPH a few times a year and have shot 3 projects there.

I've had great success just using Maybeline "Shine Free" if you're just concerned with glow from oily skin. It works great and is inexpensive and can be bought in most drug stores.

I remember once being on location in Omaha and needing powder for the talent. I also needed some nylon stocking to use behind the lens and some elastics to hold it on. The producer and I are standing in the checkout line together with powder, hosiery and elastics. I can't imagine what the teller thought we were going to be doing later that evening.
