  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Where is the film-industry heading?

Interesting stuff to chew on, thanks for that. Especially from an outside American Hollywood view.

Speaking of outside Hollywood productions, I just watched The Micmacs by Jean-Pierre Jeunet. This was yet another fantastic film by him, and was totally inspiring (from a creative standpoint)

His films have such a personality, something that most american films lack. The closest thing lately I've seen to a film like this was The Brothers Bloom.

Both made me to work for the Director.

There will never be an equal or near level of distribution, whether its via internet or cell phone, unless you count bootlegged copies or free limewire downloads. Hollywood works on the basic principles of big business 101. Theres nothing new here and it wont change. The music industry still makes BILLIONS despite the change in distribution methods.

Independent films will always shine alongside blockbusters. There is nothing wrong with that.
The problem with the Indie world has always been the same in America, there is a lot of noise out there. There are thousands and thousands of indie movies out there. For an movie to shine, the filmmaker must either have a hollywood Star attached or have a lot of money for marketing and distribution. Its that simple. Its actually more expensive to market a film on the internet than most people think. You can have the best Movie on the internet but if you cant get people to pay for it..........................

You may ask yourself: Where is the film-industry heading?

You may tell yourself: Nowhere!!!

Same as it ever was, same as it ever was, same as it ever was, same as it ever was...
