hello i just ordered a mx but to my surprise there is no redmag that is 500 or 600gb , listed on the store so do i have to look elsewhere to buy it but where?

Rhe disks are EOL'ed. Current available option from RED is rge CF cards. SSDs are slowly trickling down to the general userbase, but I wouldn't hold my breath and bet my production on them, unless your Red REP tells you that it is ready to ship with your camera.

Hello Mansh

Do not despair.

The red store has in stock both 64GB and 256GB SSD.

We received two of the 64GB cards last month and could not be happier.

The 16GB CF card was just too small for a lot of the interviews we were doing.
The 64GB is a great length for almost any thing. If 64GB is too small get the 256GB and you can record for hours. An amazing feature when working a 4.5k
Try that on 35mm film!

You will need to get a RED ONE 1.8"SSD MODULE and a RED STATION REDMAG 1.8”to transfer the data.

The SSD is a far better solution then a Hard drive will which can have problems with Vibration, and download speeds are far faster with the SSD, fire wire or SATA.

Good Luck and consider your self lucky to be getting in to the RED ONE when SSD is the standard.
