  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Why is it you are posting here? You've only posted 7 times since 2008...This makes no sense...

Unfortunately you have no clue of how this site works, and contacting an administrator isn't so easy when you have been banned.

If you could get me in contact with David Fincher I'd appreciate it. Apparently you have a way...

I'd like to see him back here. This thread can be pretty thick with a lot of RED rah rah crap sometimes and I don't think a little open discussion hurts. We have a real name policy on this thread and I think that if people want to be rude they can be punished by hurting their own reputation, not by being banned. Furthermore I have had some nasty things said to me on a few forums and I really don't see how people let it affect them so much.

As far as discussing taboo topics, I think it could only help RED by allowing open discussions (where most of the time RED will come out as the winner) rather than brushing them under the rug. This might help change this forums reputation as a fan club

I think you were just complaining about how people get Reduser a bad name and then you literally judged a person by how many posts he has...

Stay classy.

Edit: Also, I think almost everyone of the Admins is on Facebook. So it's as simple as searching their names and sending them a message. Even the President of Red is on Facebook.

Michael,

You should think a little harder on what I was actually saying. I wasn't putting him down for a low post count, I was trying to figure out why he had such an interest in Sanjin when hes posted 3 of his only 7 posts in this thread alone since 2008. It's not putting someone down ( I didn't call him names or say he was a troll), it's called trying to figure out why he's so invested in this. He also suggested Sanjin create a new account under a different name which is just wrong.

You like to cause issues, so I'm not going to argue. Just next time maybe don't post if it has nothing to do with the thread and is confrontational...

+1 for giving Sanjin a Christmas pardon. Indian fellow if I remember my early days with any clarity?
 
Sanjin is a special case, and has been a constant theme for discussion amongst the mods. We're discussing it internally (coincidentally we started a new round just before this thread started). Sanjin does add color, and holds the record for having been banned most often.

On a general note, it is not a good idea to make a new account if you are banned*. That is in breach of the forum rules and will not only ban you again, but make it muchless likely that your original account will get unbanned.

Speaking of which, if you are banned, there are plenty of ways to get in touch with one of us. I'm speaking from experience, as I got banned twice in my early days**.

A friendly, humble e-mail or facebook PM is also much better than an accusing, aggressive all caps thread from a new account.

And guys, please stop attacking each other. Thanks.

** One day I logged in and greeted by a screen saying that I had been permanently banned. Sent a friendly e-mail to one of the admins, and soon thereafter I was PMing with another reduser about the possibility of porting a AC software from OPL to iOS and posted some code snippets into the PM. A second later I was banned again. Turns out that the forum software thought I was trying to inject code into the system. Insta autoban. Sent another friendly e-mail to "my" admin explaining what had happened and that - now that I knew how it did happen - would not do it again. Well, I'm still around, still with my original account. Friendlyness and honesty goes a long way.

Same here. I also like his detailed post, highlighting things in different colors and adding a ton of links for reading further. Pretty helpful for someone like me, who doesn't post much but reads a ton.
 
Many of his links were very interesting as standalone reads!

But as Martin suggests, he is quite good at pushing buttons... :-))

He's been screening films at festivals, lately. Maybe he has found more time for filmmaking through not being here as much... :-)
