I must have missed the announcement and I can't find anything about it using search - but what happened to Redcine? I was at Red.com Support to download 20.0.0 a couple weeks ago and it was still there but when I went there yesterday to get the latest version for a rented MacBook it was no longer available to download.

Redcine-X is there but where did the original flavour Redcine go?

It's been EOL'd... REDCINE-X takes its place.

Redcine-X is a lot more capable but I do hope that it picks up some speed as they move toward v1.0. Half res medium splays smoothly through my system on Redcine 20.0.0 while not even dropping to 1/16th will give full framerate with Redcine-X.

It was a nice piece of software that could really showcase what RAW was all about- and it is a shame to see it go.

i love red cine beta 20.0.0....why is death? I think is a very good software...and export quality is better than apple color....
I don't like redcine-x....very beatiful but...

FWIW I'd much rather have the "assimilate" style redcine interface than the Redcine-X
"Kai's power Tools" look. Too much texture!

I would rather have one that can actually playback footage.

How about an interface that actually looks like something you'd see in an OS? REDAlert is the easiest-on-the-eyes RED software out there. The interface should drop away so you can concentrate on the image. That REDCine-X is way to much for working software. Being able to dock all the windows (And have them stay how I left 'em) like After Effects might make a believer out of me though...

Fixing the Mac version to not display Unix folders like /etc & /dev would also make my day. It drives me crazy in Color as well!

Hard to comprehend the EOL of Redcine when Redcine-X is an early alpha. Does RED want us to use alpha beta products with camera firmware "release" build 21? I would like to see Redcine brought back into the arsenal and support release build 21 as it should be until work is completed on Redcine-X.

Does anyone have a link to the last available version of REDCINE. I need to tinker with some footage and REDCINE-X isn't playing the game.

PM me. I have Redcine 20.0.0 and it's 5.5MB so emailable. Hope this is OK with RED.
