  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

When will we see Scarlet Footage?

Kacey have you seen the new footage Jarred posted just a few days ago or a week ago or so? That's not very dated and is surely shot on a production scarlet
 
no scarlet footage was shown. Jim said if you had the epic and scarlet with the same lens same redcode side by side shooting the same objectthat it would be the same no difference.

No I haven't, I'll track it down. I have only seen the Lion and Skateboard footage. Thank you.
 
yes Jim himself has stated the image will be identical in same settings. Reason Epic costs more is it has far more settings like 5k @ 120fps etc etc
 
Nonetheless, it would be nice to see some footage. Jarred's 120fps clip was filmed with the fixed 2/3 no? New camera new footage yeah?

Not asking for anything fancy like what Laforet did for Canon (which is pretty crummy if you ask me), hell, I'll take dudes playing b-ball at sunset, Jarred driving around Jim's car, a dog licking its balls (well maybe not), a model admiring her new bra in the mirror (well definitely yes), anything.

I'm also looking forward to a hands-on review.

I'm pretty sold on Red, but 14k is a hefty chunk of change to drop solely on faith and equivalencies. I just need that little extra push to convince me. Like an amp that goes up to 11.

Buy a Scarlet and get Epic footage. That's a miracle. I have no idea why people feel the need to complain the way they are, have some people lost their perspective?

I'd want to see footage. Seems natural. I know, it's the same sensor, the look will be the same, etc., etc. Still makes sense to see some footage first.

What's the big deal? Canon got Vincent Laforet to shoot some footage with the new c300, seems like Red could find someone to shoot a quick short with the actual Scarlet being released, not a prototype, or something with the same sensor.

Maybe we'll just have to wait for vimeo vids from consumers.

Red Giant went out of their way with a showcase short called 'Plot Device' for a $400 bit of SW, would love to have seen Red give this guys a camera to showcase the Scarlet.

Then again, Scarlet is basically an Epic (so to speak) so simply hire Pirates of the Caribbean on dvd or watch the new Amazing Spiderman trailer/teaser. But I'm with you all. I actually had anticipate the guys at Red would have played a Shit Hot short or footage to really bring home the presentation, hence starting the thread (prior to learning that S is really an E (i just love saying that now hehe).
