  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

When will there be news from RED?

My intention was to get a timeframe from RED when we would get news. Like: in two weeks we'll tell you more so you don't have to check here every 30 minutes.

But now this thread has turned into: while checking every 30 minutes let's have a chat. Welcome to RED café everybody.

There was... It went MIA along with the ;) winky face when Jarred "upgraded" the smileys about 2 months ago. But it's all good, because we have Spidy. :spidy: Hehe

Oh.. and Lordnumberzero.... Screw you too, buddy. I'll never forgive you for placing the RED 'sticker' on the Hoff. :bleh:

Maybe you need to start a support forum for the wives.

Or, better yet, a new product launch. Pink One. Cover all your blemishes for $1.99. Even you can look good in 4k. Just put this on:

The thing that's gonna just kill me is when the first bunch gets their cams and start threads like "OMG Check THIS out!" and "Holy Crap, look at this clip!!!" for 3 months and all I will do is sit here in my little computer chair and think ... damn. :bye2:

I told my wife that I am meeting up with some guys from the forum tomorrow. She glanced across at the screen and there was Lordnumberzero's avatar. "So is that the kind of person you are meeting up with?" she said... Thanks goodness Finner wasn't on that page...

i'm doing to my wife what I did when I wanted to go to the casino and play texas hold'em poker. I made her my accomplice and taught her how to play. Now she sits at the $400 no limit poker table and bitch slaps everyone there. So I took her to NAB and now she wants to do compositing and special fx. So she makes money for us at the poker table and will do my post for my feature. Great in bed, cooks, and does my laundry too. What can I say. I got a great wife. :)
 
I took my wife to NAB as well. Definitely more ladies there this year than in past years to my eyes.

Oh, and Finner - your avatar's what drove The Man's latest YouTube drunken debauchery. ;D

Yeah that's me only for like six months or eight months, not three. Oh well.

I won't get my RED until I'm basically done with film school, which is a shame because if I had it now and shot these stupid assignments on it, I could seriously embarass my classmates more than already has happened. I mean our last project isn't ten times better than everyone else's because of the camera, or because of the lighting, or because of our color correction, or because of superior editing (though all of that helps), it's because we told a meaningful STORY and they just screwed around with nothing anyone cares to see. It is all about the story, when it comes down to it, but to have this beautiful story shot on that beautiful camera... well, that's a dream come true.

I just want the tools to make my visions look on screen as I see them in my mind. All filmmaking equipment is just for that purpose, really.
