  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

When will the drives be available for sale again?

RED-DRIVES will not go back on sale in the store until we have eaten through the majority of this backorder. We are getting through the list and we are hoping to be through it by end of the month. We are going as fast as we can on them, rest assured.

BC

will see. :whistling:
Hope you´re right!

Has anyone received his backordered drives ? The end of august is coming soon...

Received my camera 2 months ago, still nothing...

I paid for my camera in Mid-May. Took delivery the first of June. Still no drives.

Got my camera on June 13th... still no drives.

hmmm, I ordered only one Red Raid. And 5 8 GB´s, also 2 16 GB´s.Didn´t think about the drive´s download time. Can anyone tell me how much time is needed to download a full RED drive to a harddisc ?

Thanks...

Has ANYONE received a drive since they resumed shipping them?

I know for a fact that the owner of the camera just a few serial numbers before mine received their drives with their camera. So. I am pretty sure I should be on top of the list.

But. I could be wrong.

I get roughly 2GB per minute via FW800 to another FW800 enclosure (LaCie Little Big Disk 320GB).

There's so many variables that a single answer to your question is bound to generate responses both for higher and lower values than that.

Hopefully that's a pretty good ballpark for you to assess.

I think the 16GB CF cards will be the best option once they ship in volume. I'll let you know once I receive mine.... :)

Firewire800 from RED drive into Macbook Pro and ESata x 2 out into Sonnet F2 Raid 1 drive takes ± 1hour transfer time for 290GB.
