I'm using Vegas Pro 11 right now but its BS when it comes to renders, is Davinci 10 better? I use to have an AVID media composer system years ago.

Davinci Resolve 10 isn't released yet and it's not an editing app. It's for color correction, conforming, etc.

I don't think there is any clear "best" app. Adobe Premiere, AVID Media Composer, Lightworks, Autodesk Smoke, Final Cut Pro, EDIUS Pro, Vegas... Use what you like. They're all good.

When Resolve 10 comes out it is shipping with an NLE built in. I heard bits and pieces about it after NAB on several podcasts and overall the impression seemed to be good.

Looking forward to giving it a try.

Yes, Resolve 10 does include a proper editor, but in no way, shape or form it is recommended to do the actual editing using it. Just because Resolve 10 will be able to do three way edits and be able to slip and slide doesn't mean, that it should be used as an editor, like Pp or FCP. It is planned to be a Finishing solution. But I suspect many users in a pinch will ended up using Resolve 10 as a simple editor.

Being a mac guy, i built a PC with premiere pro for power and customization. I've had nothing but trouble with Premiere crashing constantly. I had to manually save after a few edits since autosave is unreliable. I know most of you don't encounter much issues with PP, but looks like i might be heading to FCPX now.

I really like the way Resolve 10 approaches "app-making". Being able to add GPUs to upgrade a PC is something I've advocated for quite a few years now. Not only that, but they've got the history of high end productivity to accompany their approach. I'm still doing 5k stuff on my old obsolete CS 6 non-CC Adobe software, but when the Dragons arrive, I'll switch to Resolve.

Vegas pro is garbage it has more problems than Adobe Premiere when you try to render. vegas pro. stays locked into what ever file you like M2t, .mov etc. you can't render to an AVI file type, it says you can but when you check your footage its the same format .mov instead of .AVI All it does is crash so I'm hoping Resolve 10 is a solution to these weak ass editing apps that needs a thousand updates. I'm trapped in vegas pro 11 jail trying to get a final HQ video.
