Hi,
What do you suggest for a good, reasonable price, pl mount prime lens around 10mm focal length?

Hi Adam,
The one you are selling is a zoom lens. I can't believe that its still for sale.
These rehouse are used lenses??? or brand new rehoused?

Hi Katie,

yup it is indeed a zoom ;)
I only have the one lens for sale. The Tokina lens was originally purchased new and then rehoused all by Dima Turaev out of Russia. But it's used now. We used it on our feature film and loved it!

the words PL mount and cheap usually dont go well hand in hand :/ unless quality is really of no concern.
but like Adam said....you are probably better off getting a canon/ nikon mount and hunting down a stills prime or going with a PL rehoused stills lens.

this tokina is great value for money.

I can recommend you the GL optics 11-16 mk2. The rehoused lens is based on the new Tokina 11-16 mk2.

I'm a dealer for GL optics, so I don't want to praise the quality too much, but you can ask others here on the forum who purchased GL optics lenses like the 18-35 (there was a group buy for it) about the quality.

Hey David, How much is mk2?
Berenger, whats the image quality of peleng?

Tokina 11-16mm-Does this cover s35mm sensor? Epic x sensor?

Both answers are in the link from David's post:

2535 Euros ($ 3500 USD when you buy from GLO in the states)
Covers S35

It very slightly vignettes on 5k at 11mm, but for 12mm and above it's covering the full 5k sensor. Dragon 6kHD should also be fully covered.

My prices are roughly the same as when you buy from GL optics directly, with the difference that I take care of all the customs and potential warranty issues, if they ever might come up.

hey guys, i was thinking to buy a kinoptik 9.8 super wide lens in PL mount ... as visual products giving it for $2200 in PL mount with 6 month warranty ..
here is the link

so i would like to know about this lens positive and negative side for my red one MX .
or if u guys have any other suggestion for non fisheye wide angle lens in $2500 price then let me know!
TQ

The optical quality is "average" not bad not good. As it's a Fish eye, it's not a big deal. At 4k on the epic, it' doesn't look to Fish eyed, if you're not too close to the subject.
Built quality is kinda poor, a bit of play but focusing at 8mm is not a problem. The front cap is awful and actually dangerous for the glass.

The focus ring is litterally stucked to the PL mount, you can't really put a Follow focus on it (it's not geared anyway)

Search on google for footage with the name Peleng 8mm.

But seriously, the GL optics or Duclos Tokina 11-16 are absolutly fabulous. The sharpness is not as good as Masters or RPP of course, but it's very good nervertheless
And the 16mm Nikkor too, as it's really cheap.

I love my Tokina 11-16 Pl Mount lens. Minimal distortion for the focal lengths and great sharpness wide open. Most of the other wides in the 11mm range are fish eye speciality looks.

My 11-16 looks unbelievable on my Scarlet Dragon in 5K FF. No vignette at all, looks so great!

i wi probably just hold onto the lens as it's so gorgeous ;)
