Reservoir Dogs...
Don't think this one gains much on the big screen.
Actually there is a revival theatre called the New Beverly
Cinema in Hollywood and Reservoir Dogs played on Saturday
night midnight screenings for like 2 years or something.
This was pre-Pulp Fiction and heard that Lawrence Tierney used
to often attend and bum rides/smokes/drinks off of moviegoers.
Matter of fact when the original owner died in 2007 Tarantino
came through and paid the 5K a month rent and in 2010 he bought
the theatre building outright. The theatre hosted the west coast
performance of Martin and Lewis in 1950's and then in the 1970's it was a
porno theatre. So with that history behind it...he couldn't resist.
But just don't hold your breath for digital projection.
"As long as I'm alive, and as long as I'm rich,
the New Beverly will be there, showing double features in 35mm," Tarantino said.
