IMHO ...

The body with SSD module and one mount will rent in NYC for $300.00-$350.00 per day to start.

However, camera packages are like snowflakes. Everything else will be costed out based on accessory quality. (Ex: Redrock vs. Arriflex ... O'Connor vs. Manfrotto)

... number of batteries ... number of SSDs ... (64GB vs. 256GB). Ocean View ... Garden View ... etc.

I say $400-$550. Red one mx rents for $750-800, Epic will drop to around $1,100-1,200. Just my opinion based on the market. Im not an owner but merely a renter so this would be my best guess.

The Scarlet will probably be in the $450.00 to $750.00 range for a day's rental.

The same as the RED one MX is going for, it's basically it's replacement.

I would of suspected 1/2 of a Red MX as its about half the price.

So around $300? You can't charge $1,000 a day for the camera, I could buy one for what it would cost in two weeks. Sure there are extras etc, but renting really has to be affordable vs. buying or people just buy.


What this will do is hurt Epic renters as if you don't need 5k (say just 4k at 24fps) your not going to pay the large perium on the Epic. I think that will cut into their success quite a bit, but then again they could also buy Scarlets two rent to those who just want the basic setup.
