I just found my old Arri knife. You know, blue the Swiss Army knife with the Arri brand on it. We need a Red one - that would be soooo cool.

Now, I just want to begin this by saying, can we please make it about being an on-set tool, not a weapon of mass destruction. I know there's a tendency for folk around here (Jim more than anyone) to get a little back woods Missouri about things like this. I'm just suggesting a Swiss Army knife. :yesnod:

It sounds corny but it's actually not a bad idea if Epic has has many allen key possibilities as the RED1. They should wait for Epic to be out and 3d party products to roll out with it and then make one based on all the tools needed to make an EPIC configuration LOL.

And maybe they could release a Red branded sense of humour. There seems to be a need.

Of course, should the guys at Red take my suggestion at all seriously, what they would do is call up the Swiss Army Knife people, order 2,000 units in black with appropriate Allen keys and a buzzsaw logo and sell them in the online store.

Like the idea of a multi-tool device, however do NOT make it a Swiss Army brand-ish. Meaning, they have the absolute WORST steel for a knife blade, it's soft as butter and will dull as soon as you cut through paper. Leatherman uses a much better steel for a knife. Or if you wanted to get really funky, how's about a Benchmade? Now we're talking... Infidel, anyone?

Cup-holders!

They mentioned they had designed an allen and posted a render, or photo, can't remember. I think they will make one that has all necessary allens for RED's swivel arms, or a set. Either way I think we can count on it look Oakley-esque.

LOL at the $30 stubby screwdriver. I remember when Filmtools first got those in a couple years ago, they were selling them for $7.99 and giving them away for free with certain orders, I have one or two around here... They suck anyway. The $3.99 Craftsman or Husky #7 screwdrivers are superior by far.

+1 on the Swiss Army Knives being junk. Not only do they have a terrible choice of steel (super cheap), so is the overall construction quality. Besides they tend to get big enough that they're just comical in nature.

What I would really like to see is a folding torx and/or hex key set that has all the sizes needed for the RED One / Epic camera. Not that it would be unique -- Sears, Wiha and other tool makers already make these and they're cheap, so no biggie. I've got more tools than I know what to do with anyway...

....how's about a Benchmade? Now we're talking...

If were talking just about a knife, well Benchmade all the way I love mine...but more useful would be a multi-tool with all the needed Allen keys and what not...could definitely be a fun product.

^ Yup, there you go. Thanks.

But I agree with Jeff, folding torx would be better. Maybe one that snaps into locked position, and a nice release which you need to press to fold back down.

_ Something solid
_ With everything necessary
_ That you can quickly pull out and thrown back into your pocket
_ Oakley style, and with a RED buzzsaw logo somewhere

Here, here! It definitely needs to be a multi tool, possibly with a working mini RED chainsaw blade that folded. (not over 4" long however, need to be able to tote the thing) But definitely needs to be a locking blade, locking torx heads, other accoutrements, possibly titanium handle like a Leatherman Charge Ti. Benchmade, Gerber, et. al., Jim knows what to do to make this thing right for the RED family of kit.
