  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I think you mean REDspace, not REDcine

Smoke 'em if you got 'em

Smoke 'em if you got 'em

You can learn different things from each one.

ViewRAW is my personal preference as less chroma makes it easier for me to judge density, falloff, etc.
Rec709 view is nice for looking at a larger outboard video monitor that is itself calibrated to rec709. Its not true WYSIWYG like some cams but it is a good reference point.
If I have time I also look at RedSpace in search of unwanted color casts since the chroma is more prominent.

Of course my favorite for lighting set ups is false color on viewRAW :ihih:

many of us "see" with our meters. i rough everything in with the meter so basically what unit is used and where it is set is not determined by any image per se. prefer to tweek in raw.

Why do I think that Redspace is the way to go - it's closer to the end look than RAW view. So if I protect my highlights in Redspace, I will actually have more room to play with in post.
