I've had a couple times on set recently with my Raven where my T for temperature (where you look for T/E) is red and the camera itself becomes extremely slow in responding to the commands and buttons I press on the camera. During these episodes, I usually power the camera down and then back up to try to make it more responsive but it doesnt always fix the T/E problem. Usually, I don't have time to troubleshoot and I have to film when working with high profile talent who are impatient and everything is urgent. I understand when its in the RED I will have more noise in my image.

In one scenario I went from the cold outside to warm inside (and vice versa) so I guess that's expected. Another time I couldn't really justify why it was red. I've done my research on blackshading, fan setting modes etc. etc.

My question is, when you find youself in those situations where you have a red t/e, and your fan is already set to adaptive mode, what else can you really do to try and fix this and get it back into the green? I assume you just have to wait it out until the fan can adjust the temperature to the right range? Do I run a manual blackshade right then and there to try to fix? What do you guys do?

Not sure why your camera becomes unresponsive, but it isn't corolated with your blackshading. Ideally you want to perform a blackshading in the temperature of where you'll be shooting. The T/E indicators are t long you that the temperature the blackshading was performed, is different than the current temp of the camera. So, if you're moving indoors and outdoors often, you could create a blackshading map and save it for each location. Then you can quickly apply the right one when needed.
