What the SAS?

I'm currently looking into upgrading from my LTO-3A to a LTO-5 drive, many of them seem to have a connection called SAS, I did some googling and it seems that is the standard format for disk arrays. But how do I connect a LTO-5 drive with a SAS port to say an iMac with Thunderbolt/USB2/Firewire800/Ethernet? Are there enclosures for just one drive?

sorry, clearly didnt read your post. That obviously wont work in an iMac

SAS = Serial Attached SCSI. Not sure if there's i/o cards available for Mac, but these are catching on in the heavy-duty server world. I believe this is one of many proposed replacements for fiber channel, but I think fiber channel is fast enough for most facilities, even with 4K work.

It may once one of these TB expansion boxes comes out from Magma or Sonnet etc.
