  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

What the Hell is a "CODEC FAULT" ??

Thanks Sean, but I tried downloading Redundead, and it says that it is NOT supported by this operating system. My OS is Windows7 64bit, so I don't understand the problem.

If it is still downloadable, please let me know how.

Thanks for your help.

Not sure if red undead is available for windows. If not, you'll need to find someone with a mac. You can still download it, but red.com detects your operating system, there is usually a "download for other operating system"/style link for stuff. good luck

Let me guess, it was sunny and scene had lots of detail?

Sorry, but NO, it was not. It was "indoors" in a studio setting, using Tungsten lights. But, yes, there was a lot of detail in the shot. So what? I mean, it wasn't a checkerboard, just a mass of plants, etc, etc.

Humm, if you haven't sent in a LOG file from the camera yet please do so - do you know how that's done George, or how you can read back the software level and sensor type from the camera ?

No, I do NOT.

Please tell me, in nauseating detail, EXACTLY how I am to do those things. ;)

Then, I will be happy to send the info in.

Remember, I am still VERY new to all of this. But, I'll learn.

Make sure you have a CF card inserted or RED DRIVE attached. Now press the SYTEM button on the camera back, and then SETUP then MAINTENANCE. You will see a soft key called WRITE LOG. Press that key and wait for the camera to confirm that it has written the LOG file to the CF Card or RED DRIVE.

Now remove the CF Card / RED-DRIVE and attach to your computer. Look for a file with a name in the format ABC_123_XYZ.LOG. this will be 2 - 4 MB in size.

E-mail that file to RED Tech Support, or to me at stuart@red.com
