What system do I need for realtime layering

What system do I need to use in order to do realtime layering. I'm just putting a few video tracks on top of eachother in final cut with various composite modes and the rendering time is killing me, it plays slow even at low realtime render settings and all that so I'm forced to use SAFE mode and render everything every time I make an edit.

I'm pretty sure that a card for my mac pro does not exist for this stuff, so what are my options? are there other systems out there that will do this for me ?

What CODEC and resolution are you working with? And are you using UNLIMITED or SAFE Realtime?

With any Mac Pro you should be able to layer, title, resize and other stuff without rendering.

UNLIMITED gives me the stutters, so im forced to do SAFE and wait while it renders.
