What size of dovetail (epic + 24-290)

Hey guys,

We have 12" + 18" dovetails for our epic and will be renting a 24-290 for an upcoming project. Any reason to rent a longer one? Renter doesn't seem to think so but figured I'd ask because I always thought we rented a longer plate in the past. (first time using this bad boy with the epic)

We will be receiving this lens in the field so impossible to test.

EDIT : called a rental house and 18" should be cool.

18" is fine. I use it with mine. 24" steel rods is better to use though but I've actually gotten away with 18" rods too.
By the way, where are you renting from? I noticed you are in Vancouver. I own a 24-290 as well.

Hey Norm,

I'm in Vancouver working on FS but my home base is Saskatoon. Hence the lack of rental houses.... Funny thing is I'm working out of a rental house while I'm here (Bling) but I'm on nights so the rental techs are already gone before I can ask stuff like this. Thanks for the reply!

I think the prod co is getting it from somewhere closer to SK (I think Winnipeg) but I'll let them know you've got one.
