  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

I will be starting a boutique line of accessories in the near future starting with one or two very simple products. I would like to make simple and high demand items that are modular and will work for both the prosumer and pro market.

some Idea's have been clamps. brackets, Iris rods (aluminum, stainless or carbon fiber) mounts... you get the Idea.

Any and all thoughts are welcome.

Women. (ha.... I know.... I'm gonna burn)

Ok seriously... Any kind of inexpensive clamp for mounting misc items like LCD arms or mics.

Battery plate adapters that are inexpensive. Like the v mount.

low priced baseplates often have wobble, because the precision machining isnt cost effective. What we DONT need is more shotty designed aks.

more things out of carbon fiber
more ways to move the camera
more things for small cameras

I don't think anyone makes a 15mm universal mount.

But I'm sorry to say that I usually stick with Red and ET name brand for rental purposes.

Ill make note of that.

There are a lot of high quality brackets and mounts made by many very reputable companies. I would like to make something simple precisely so that the design and build quality can be something made of top notch surgical grade components that we are used to seeing in the Arri, Oconnor, Ronford and Element technica lines. But the scale of the economics can benefit from the larger client base of both prosumer and Pro.

Light light light lightweight

Light light light lightweight

Anything lighter weight than whats out there without major sacrifices in durability. Many of us shoot both studio and run and gun, as well as on smaller jibs, stabilizers, handheld - we need lighter stuff badly! Note that Underdahl's stuff is killer, but does not work well with other accessories - his handle system for example means abandoning other stuff.

Carbon rods
Much lighter rod adapters and/or baseplates
The handles weight a TON. Lighter handle.
Did I mention light but still ARRI compatible dovetails and bases?
Lighter good PL zooms (well, one can wish)
Light but still relatively full featured matt box - red aint shipping theirs yet
Replace the standard RED steel screws used for everything with Alum?

Kudos to you Bernard-

For your comment about quality in after market accessories.
People don't stop to consider what goes into seemingly simple items like dovetail plates. Keeping those angled rails straight and parallel to within a few thou over 18" is not for the faint of heart. Anybody want my treatise on metal plating and anti-friction coatings ?

...Didn't think so.
