So, is it true that there is only one output connector for either viewfinder or LCD, but not both?
On the Red One the operator can frame through the viewfinder while the assistant looks at the lcd.
Am I supposed to do everything by myself, framing and focus pulling?
or are we supposed to go back and forth with a tape roll and sending our lenses to germany for collimation every week because of this missing feature?
With the Red One, we simply magnify with the touch of a button on the display (or the viewfinder, or any) and focus with 100% accuracy and bypassing possible focus extimation errors.
On the Epic, since I've heard there is at least HD-SDI output, have I to buy a Marshall monitor and always bring a kid with me who'd take care of charging and changing the third party monitor's tiny batteries? I'm afraid of using the small HD which obviously isn't electrically compatible with red's auxiliary power connectors since it died in october for the second time and in the same way, after a repair or substitution. It was brand new when it died the first time - it died after I think 1 day shooting - and probably brand new was also the second example we were given.
I can't believe Red made only 1 video output for the camera crew while the Red One that is 4 years old has 2.
I'm I missing something or you really didn't understant the importance of being able to have both viewfinder AND lcd on the camera?
I guess the same thing apply to Scarlet.
Thanks.
