What movie genres do you like, in order? Just pick a few, and list them in order. Here's a few suggestions, feel free to ad to the list if something you like isn't mentioned. I'll be surprised if anyone likes Bollywood movies. Feel free to list some you don't like.

I don't care for Dramas. And a Musical probably isn't going to do it, unless it's a comedy like the Rocky Horror Picture Show or something.

I tend to like Action, Romantic Comedies, Science Fiction, and Fantasy. Not really into the horror movies like Saw or Hostel where it's just torture porn, but I do like a good monster movie.

Drama

Most of everything is just drama.

I worked on Star Trek ... that's a drama, with action adventure elements in a futuristic (aka Science Fiction) setting.

I worked on a film called "The Message"

That's a drama with fantasy/religious and horror elements in a present day setting.

So ... to answer your question the way you wanted: I like Science Fiction, Fantasy, Drama, Action/Adventure and Crime.

Dramatic conflict is a common element of almost all narrative, so I assume Eric must mean specifically drama not couched within or combined with another genre. But still I don't see why the conflict between characters is only interesting in a sci-fi setting, for example -- surely it depends on the quality of the writing and acting as to how involving that drama is? For example, a movie like "JFK" is a drama but also period movie and a political movie. Same goes for "The Godfather", a family drama but set in the backdrop of crime, and also a period drama. It's all drama -- will Frodo be able to destroy the One Ring before it destroys him, or before the armies of mankind fall? That's drama, just in a fantastical setting. "Patton" is a war drama -- and so is "Star Wars", but instead of destroying a dam or bridge in WW2, they have to destroy the Death Star.

Anyway, I like movies so I like most genres, though I'd have to say that the least interesting stories personally for me involve contemporary teenagers, comedy or drama. Though I like some of them.

I will definitely say, though, that the enjoyment of the whole "torture porn" sub-genre of horror films completely eludes me.

And I will also say that I have a weak spot for science fiction in general, meaning there's a lot of it I'll watch even when it's not particularly good. My wife calls them my "blinky-lights movies"... often I tell her "but I had to see it, it had blinking lights in it!"

Anyway, I wouldn't even call Drama a genre because it's too vague, I'd break it down into "Courtroom Drama", "Political Drama", "Family Drama", etc. and perhaps whether they are period or contemporary.

I hate Summer Blockbusters and cheap remakes/sequels of any kind. I dislike Hollywood Comedies and am so/so on Drama or Crime. I hate Spy Kids, Battle: LA, The Smurfs, Conan, Hangover, One Day ...
I like SciFi, Fantasy, Romance if not predictable and cheesy. I like... Hot Fuss, Inception, Amélie, Leon the Professional, Oldboy, Iron Man ...

Mystery thriller would be my #1.
Action takes the #2 spot, especially with an element of horror or sci-fi thrown in (Predator, Aliens) or ridiculous awesome fighting (Jackie Chan, Tony Jaa)
Sic-Fi
Horror (if it's good, but most aren't)
Comedy
Documentary
And I also love really terrible campy films. Most of this can be horror, action, sic-fi, or unintentional comedy

I still love movies in every genre, but when I'm just tryin to find something to watch on Netflix, it's usually some type of mystery/thriller/conspiracy film.

Well, I guess entertainment is like beauty, it depends on the eye of the beholder.

You couldn't pay me to watch JFK. On the other hand I will watch Star Wars over and over again.

So, yes, for me it depends on the setting. The more realistic it is, the more boring it is for me. Your mileage may vary.
