Anyone using the Wooden Camera 15mm LW bracket or the RED Assault plate bracket? What size rods are you using?

I thought I could get away with 6-inchers, (accomodate a Follow Focus and Matte Box) but now I'm thinking 9" is the magic number... thoughts?

biggest would be the Canon 70-200 f2.8 L

Get the longest rods you can that won't be in the field off view of your widest lens. Or get a couple of sets with different lengths. Or get some that screw together to extend the length from Zacuto. It really all depends on what you do, not what we use.

I have a bin filled with different lengths that I fit depending in what lenses / matte box / shoulder mount I'll be using… It really isn't a one size fits all type deal. Carbon fibre rods and a hacksaw could be in your future.

lol Glen, the more I think about it, that doesn't sound like too bad an option, just don't want to be swapping out rods each time we do a lens change too. The 70-200 is definitely the exception, I see us using mostly short zooms and prime Canons. Was just looking to see if anyone had a pic or so of their own setup, like 'hey, i use 6" rods with the 24-70 L series, here's what it looks like'

I think we have a winner. I can get 6" AND 9" rods (with 3" extensions) for $75. Can't beat that that with a stick. Now I just need a Scarlet ... [stares at his Nov. 8th order]

threaded rods are your friend. Berkey systems have lots of different lengths.
