  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

What is the status on the EVF?

The year has passed and I am still waiting for the EVF that was supposed to be shipped end nov ...then end dec...

Can I get an upadate on it. I tried calling RED before Dec 24th and I am getting no email response on the status.

There's a rule.. if it's not here, then it's not here. RED has not given a specific release date, so do not hold your breath.

PS You do mean the BOMB EVF right?
 
No, he is still waiting for his original EVF.

He has had his camera for a long time. I sold him a bunch of Red accessories over a year ago on eBay.

Harcharan, you waited this long, you may as well wait for the Bomb. Or, get a used EVF....

Thks for your support and reply.This is for my second camera.If the schedule of the BOMB EVF is nearby then I would like to wait but do anyone has the schedule for that.

I wish I had some good news to share on the EVF front. Simply put, a supplier of a key, custom component dropped the ball and we have to qualify a new source. Which, unfortunately, does take some time. As soon as we have a clearer picture on things, we'll post here: http://www.reduser.net/forum/showthread.php?t=7253 .

PS, I do not have an update on the BOMB EVF, I will try to get one.
 
We have purchased 2 Reds and a buttload of accessories. To date, we are still waiting for our second EVF. Called RED today and they don't even have an estimate on when it might get shipped out. This really stinks!!! They should do something to help people that purchased EVF's in good faith. They did, afterall, take our money!

I would love to buy used...but we are bound by federal laws to only buy new gear.

Jeff, if you want us to credit your account for what you pre-paid on the EVF, no problem at all. Just contact your rep.

Thanks for the offer. However, it will not work in this instance as I did not prepay but rather paid in full. I work for a college and our purchasing system will not allow us to prepay or make deposits. I discussed this with Kelly at NAB and we worked it out so that we could pay for everything upfront. Now our pencil counters are going a little "nuts" trying to rectify the fact that they sent out $$$ but have yet to receive all the goods. I trust you can see my conumdrum here. Just trying to get a quick resolution before my head is handed to me on a platter.

I hear you, Jeff. No one wishes that we had EVFs to ship right now more than me! My post from early January still applies - but we are trying everyday to get back to shipping them...
