What is the best NDIR filters for Red MX right now?

I'm using the Formatt ND IR and color seem less punchy and vivid with the IR coating on the ND filters.

Anyone know whitch NDIR filters are the best right now ? Did a research 2 years ago, but now i'm wandering if there is any new products.

The MX has an IR filter and as far as I know you no longer need additional IR

Not true. Our test with MX showed that from ND9 and above, you still need IR filter. I use Tiffen, but I am not sure it's the best. It's working fine though.

An IR filter is definitely still needed - even with the MX. I would say that you could get away with out IR filtration up to a 1.2 with the MX chip if you do not have IR filters. (Although personally, I'd still use the IR filter.) here are the tests I shot with a 0.9 / 1.2 / 1.5 ND'd and IR:

I have used Formatt, Tiffen and now Panchros. I really like the Panchros. By their very nature they do tend to shift things slightly green. Hot mirrors kill a little visible red. In prep run a grey card before and after for each filter so you're DIT can create a quick color profile for when you are shifting ND strengths. When possible run a grey card before each setup as that makes it easier on your DIT as well
