From what I can gather from reading these forums, Redcine is a sort of Photoshop/Aperture/reformatting plugin for your NLE. One thing it is to be used for is to perform RAW corrections to our Redcode files. So does it have the the usual RAW correction tools that I use to tweak my RAW photos in Aperture? Does it manage, like Photoshop and Aperture, to interact with my colour calibrated lcd monitor to display as near as dammit what the file looks like (within the design perameters of any decent lcd; like a 30" Apple display)? You want to correct the white balance and dig those blacks up from the depths while the file is still 12bit RAW no? Then transcode to Prores 422 for a broadcast project for example. So the Redcine step in the process is VERY important no? Will we really be able to do it on a laptop, (with a properly calibrated screen)?
