  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Basically, I have been looking into my post workflow for the Scarlet 3K cam. I currently have a macbook pro two generations old and I am looking to upgrade.

My ideal workflow is as follows: 1.) Shoot on CF cards 2.) Transfer R3D files to computer and then to an external hard drive. 3.) Convert to ProRes 1080p. 4.) Edit in Final Cut 5.) Color correct in Final Cut 6.) Convert back to R3D negative.

What hardware is needed to do this and what RED software do I need to download?

I am looking for recommendations for both software and hardware. I would prefer to go the laptop route.

hmmmm, in the laptop route you will miss the processing power of a 8-core, I fear ..... one of my friends tried that at the Ironman Austria with R1 files ...... the pictures were WOOOW but the rendering time was ppuuuuhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Yep, we don't need two threads on the same topic in the same forum...
