What Happened To Ssd ?

[LEON]

WHEN I READ this:
http://www.dvnation.com/nand-flash-ssd.html

it reminds me of the first accessories order I sent money for to RED,
totally ignoring if it was just a dream
there was a bigger choice of recording media,
I know everything changes, RED specs, the weather, planet, but
is'nt SSD very tempting in terms of speed ?

Specially when the RED team rejects new CF one after the other for unreliability !

[Dylan Reeve]

It's been indicated that the RED Flash drive is not far away... There are as many cost/performance issues with bigger Flash implementations as there are with CF.

[Brent Carter]

RED FLASH DRIVE is getting very close indeed.

What about the onboard 1,8" flashdrive option? 128GB soon

Yes, YES, ????

I hope the price gets updated because it has stayed the same as in the time it was introduced and SSD price has dropped to 1/3 since then.

or the price could stay the same and the drive get more capacity ... dunno if it's possible though :innocent:

Brent... very close... like maybe will ship with cameras 750-1000 or will offer them to cameras 10-749 first?
