I've got a old Mac Pro(3.1) which is holding up fine but I need a new graphics card and was wondering what to go with.

I want it to be OpenCL for Resolve 8 and still be able to run Smoke on Mac.
Is the PNY Quadro 4000 a good choice?

I also use After Effects and FCP. Allot of red stuff and to be able to do 4K grades in Resolve would be really nice.
I also have a Multibridge 2.

[ you might want to try in the Post Production area, rather than "accessories", too]

After a little consideration I just ordered the Blackmagic Decklink HD Extreme 3D card. My needs are probably simpler than yours (and while my MacPro / Red Rocket card is for rental, the color correction stuff is more a hobbist application) so you'll need to check about compatibility issues. Especially Davinci Resolve, I read that it works well with Blackmagic, but don't know about other cards.

I'll be using the HD Extreme with FCP / Color and After Effects, and probably with the freebie Davinci system... because I have to try it.
