  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

What framerate to shoot?

For us PAL kids, if your target is a PAL DVD/or broadcast in PAL land, definetly go 25 fps.

Steve Gibby,

Your post has inspired me to consider using some 29.97 footage in a cinematic film. I am wondering though, how one can mix various frame rates together.

The conversion from 29.97 to 23.98 will be a slowing of some percentage, which is great for the scene I intend it for (with a long duration steadicam shot, following the main character as he follows the love interest).

I am also wondering how well the 29.97 mixes in if it is only a part of the image, otherwise shot at 23.98? Say a window of the screen is a news broadcast, intended to look like live tv. The actual movie is standard 24fps. Will this mesh together properly? Or should I do something else?
