Its been a long time from upgrading the firmware and I was wondering what most REDusers are using? The most stable firmware, of course. I'm prepping a commercial shoot and don't want things
to go wrong.

I'm a bit weary of the latest firmware, I read some problems happening...

Scarlet Build 3 v3.3.14 Release Firmware

Cheers

My RED is on a job but it is running on the most current firmware. Which came out in Oct. 17th Build 3.3.14. Did at least 20 jobs on that firmware so far including a feature. Not a single hiccup, or problem at all. There's a well due firmware coming out in dec, build version 4. Which if your worried about the current firmware, just wait until the next. It's gonna be like a new camera again.

I've done at least 4 jobs so far on build 3.3.14. No problem at all. In fact, I've never had a problem with any of the previous firmwares.

I always use the latest firmware - release or BETA - load it as soon as it is released because:

A. There is always something new and improved
B. If I experience any issues that are unacceptable for my current job (which is yet to happen) - it takes me 2 min to roll back to the previous firmware

And Yes - download firmware from www.red.com (you must be logged in and own the camera for which you are downloading the firmware - if you have any problems with this contact your BOMB SQUAD rep...)

Thanks Kemalettin! Glenn I knew where the download was but I bought my scarlet used so my account shows in locked. I put in a ticket with red. I assume I need to pay a fee or something haha

Did about 10 jobs on the current one and no problems at all.
Actually, never had one with any of the builds.
Pazuzu is rock solid.

One of the reasons that the firmware updates are locked with access for owners only is to discourage potential theft. If the firmware is made publicaly available - anyone that steals Scarlet can keep getting updates...

If you do not want to pay the transfer fee, which will unlock your account, just contact the person who sold you the camera and he should provide you with the updates...

Just my 2 yen...

I'm using the latest release build and am having a re-occuring issue every few days. The camera will power on but everything is black on the screen and there are dashes on all of the settings. Even with the lens cap off.

Not sure what the issue is but it gets tiresome.

no you dont..just pm other guys who owns scarlet and they ll help you out

with all due respect, I don't think this is a good thing to do, even if you believe you are helping out. the firmware is locked to discourage theft and that is a good thing.

so please keep the firmwares to yourselves, unless you know the people - and their camera ;) - you're giving it to.

to answer the thread, I've always been on the latest firmware - release or beta without a single hiccup since the beginning of this year.

You should send RED the log file with a support ticket - just so they can see what the issue is.

I've been getting that since September, I sent RED a .log file and never heard back. Or at least I think I did.

Please open a new ticket and re-send the log file so we can determine what is going on. This is definitely not expected behavior.
