been a while since I've heard anything. Now that the release build of 16 is out, I would have assumed REDFLEX would have been introduced also.

It's still in R&D, but looking very good. But best that, given it's complexity, that it be properly tested and perfected first.

i see, well I can't wait until it's ready :)

We'll put out a proper description once it's ready.

What again is REDFlex? It seems like it was mentioned before but I don't recall ever reading what it does...

Matthew

Its a series of calistenic exercises you do after you had a RED on your shoulder for a whole day.....

Gee, I thought it was what happened to you once you were finished shooting.

FXPHD went over it briefly in a class. Looks like it's going to be fracking amazing (BSG reference alert). I'm just a tiny bit excited :)

redflex is an Output LUT, that could be set in earlier versions of redalert.

It handled the ISO and the brightness settings in a different, more intuitive way, than the current settings. You can achieve the same results with the current options, though. With redflex, it seemed one was able to get to "pretty" results quicker.

With redflex, the ISO settings and the brightness responded in a way, that they preserved the highlights and shadows, while making the overall image appear to have "more light when capturing" with ISO settings change, and "brighter" with the brightness settings. It is difficult to explain, much easier to try it out and understand.

Please listen to the Episode 8 of Mike Seymour's RED centre, to get a more accurate interpretation:

I also strongly suggest to listen to everything else. Those guys know exactly what they are doing.

Actually, it only went out in some B16 beta versions for testing and feedback - it was never on general release.
