  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

What do you guys make of Chemtrails?

Hello guys. They are spraying our sky's here in NC..what do you guys think this really is? Do you think it's global warming work or something worse?

Sometimes the simplest answer is the sane one...

Contrails are mostly water vapor, and form or not form because of the various atmospheric temperature and conditions. This also accounts for their "hang time" in the air. Over the years, shooting sky time-lapse I would get very sensitive to the times of year they would be more apparent. Late fall through winter seems to be "prime time" for them in my neck of the woods.

Going many years in summer on holiday to the south of France and surroundings, i started noticing the sky had turned out different in summer through those years. I tought I was alone noticing this and when i brought it in to a conversation everybody just made a fool of me and said I was overreacting.

I knew this had really something to do with the way we're living right now and how some governments refuse to take action when technology is already available, but with seeing this groundbreaking news to me I'm getting even more concerned, and I've got my proof and all the things I've been thinking about on this subject are considered to be true.
 
And Jim you discount the thousands and thousands of eyewitnesses and close up photography of the planes with export jets on them with the "contrails" in question spraying out not burned Jet fuel but a chemical unknown? or the admittance of our very own government that we will have "total weather control by 2020"

Bottom line is this. When I can look up in the sky and watch as plane after plane after plane releases blue "contrails" that stay the entire day from morning till afternoon creating fake cloud cover from horizon to horizon I am worried ..just a little...

Every day that this happens what really gets me is the fact that the normal air traffic planes AT THE SAME time as the chemtrail makers look just as they should with a short contrail that dissipates in under 2 min after the plane lays it down. In the exact same airspace and altitude as the chemtrail planes. How does that work?

We've had ice ages every 25-30k years..... we're just ending an ice age now. When we end an ice age.... there are no or very little glaciers at the poles..... in about 4-5k years we'll start going in the other direction and have global cooling.

Oh boy , another person in denial who just happens to be pushing his pseudo expert make money book...it blows my mind, this has nothing to do with being a Gore lover, I am not. A CONSERVATIVE TV weatherman is not exactly a good source of Scientific knowledge. We are dealing with more than cyclical variations here folks. The notion that scientist have cooked up information in order to get grants and make lots of money is insulting to me and I hope to anyone else with a three figure IQ; We all know that people go into scientific research to make lots of money...right ! Give me a fucking break.
Why are some people so afraid of tackling this problem ? Kind of common sense that co2 is bad... the planet will survive, no problem, but the fragile ecosystem that makes it a happy place for humans is dying ! Any of your friends getting cancer ? younger and younger friends ? Gee I wonder if any of it is environmental ? Duhhhh !

I've seen tic tac toe patterns in the sky and airliners flying through those trails but not leaving one of their own. Yeah... call me crazy too I guess. Of course, that the government has introduced bills around this subject is of no concern to those that know everything already.
 
Oh dear.... :)

As a former airline pilot, let me nip this crazy conspiracy theory in the bud right now, just in case this is actually a serious question and not obin trying to wind everyone up!

As a couple of posters have already mentioned, contrails are nothing more than water vapour condensing due to the sudden pressure change when an aircraft wing slices through the air. They usually form on the wingtips due to the upper surface having a lower pressure than the bottom surface. Where the wingtip stops these two pressure fronts collide and they cause a vortex effect, which in turn causes any water vapour in the air to condense and hence become visible.

The reason they sometimes stay for a long time is simply that the local air temperature up there is so low (around minus 50 degrees for commercial jetliners), so the water vapour quickly crystalises into ice particles. If the prevailing wind at that altitude is slow to none, the ice crystals will hang around for a long time since there is no force acting on them to disperse them and they are light enough to be held aloft by the tiny air currents.

As the daytime temperature changes, a new aircraft flying in similar airsspace may not generate the air pressure and temperatures required to form new contrails, hence none form. Other reasons include different airframe designs, aircraft with winglets (which lessen the parasitic drag by making the pressure differential smaller), etc etc.

In short.... study some meteorology and physics and learn how the world works before subscribing to crazy theories!! :)

Paul what explains the trails of jets at the same time in the same airspace not being equal? why at the same moment in time would one or maybe 2 jets have the "normal" tails that dissapate in under 2 min, while at the exact same time and approx the same height others have tails that last all day and into the night forming a "cloud" cover from horizon to horizon?

No I am not joking at all. I see it lots of times near the coast and during the fall/winter months..day after day...tick tack toe across the sky around here. Anyone can take a look. I am buying a 1000mm lens for my Canon 1ds 12megalpixel camera to take a close inspection of the aircraft.

Paul, how DARE you bring first hand knowledge and science into this discussion... to quote a juror on why she voted to acquit O.J. Simson of murder, "Once you got past the science stuff, there was no evidence that he did anything wrong."

On the other hand, Obin, this crazy theory would make one heckva feature film... go for it!

Now excuse me, black government pickup trucks are spraying a fine chemical mist up and down my street in the pre-dawn darkness, like they do every morning... Mumm, smells like Almonds...
 
I don't like rense (at all), but I believe it. But not necisarily for that reason. There is a lot more alluminim in the rain on an overcast contrail day. But not that much in the actual fuel.

Tin foil hat? Alluminim would have the same effects on you as the chemical contrails. Well, nearly.

I ask a simple honest question. All you can do is mock it.

What will your mocking be when at some point we get admittance of this "theory" as an honest attempt at weather control by countries worldwide ?

Obin, you're right. Sorry there. That's why I don't usually jump into non RED topics. The "spirit of fun" in a discussion can be lost in these sort of posts. At least try to understand I'm mocking the topic, not you.

I like you. I respect your large body of research in the Alternative Imaging forum, where I read all million plus posts on that thread you started on one long holiday morning years ago. I've "had your back" on any number of topics on different forums regarding such things as rolling shutter issues, etc.

But really...
