Hi all. . .
I'm pretty darn confused about the recording aspects of the RED. Since the RED drives are not yet out, I'm assuming that everyone is using the RED Flash (CF) Module and 8 gig cards. HOWEVER, according to the site, if you use the RED Flash Module, you cannot use the RAW port. Is this a permanent disabling? Or can users go from one to the other with a field switch?
If we are using the CF Module, how much time shooting at 4K can one 8 gig card hold? An 8 gig P2 card only holds 8 minutes of data at 1080 using a Panasonic HVX. It seems to me that at 4K, we might only have two minutes of storage.
I was originally planning on buying the RED DRIVE when it comes out. Is anyone else exploring that option, as well?
Thanks so much.
Stephen
