what computer????

[tj williams]

I don't edit

I want to:

see the image output on hdsdi or hdmi on the laptop monitor to save extra stuff on small jobs. In other words use the laptop as the field monitor. NOt possible on a Mac not yet sure if this is possible on a pc and which pc??

transfer flash cards and mags to an outboard or onboard raid 2

I may need to do some rendering fm RED cine for some clients but am presently considering a minimal firewire laptop and a oct core box at my shop for rendering.

advice will be greatly appreciated!!!

Macbook pro and a AJA HD IO, is the most versitale, bulletproof, and expensive option.

On the consumer end the HDMI capture stuff hasn't really been rolling out very fast. Wish these guys would make a HDMI option: http://www.elgato.com/elgato/na/mainmenu/home.en.html
