  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

What caused this?

Hi I just finished a shoot and noticed a very strange little couple of frames.

the first one is out of Red Alert, the second is from the Rendered pro res. Any help understanding what happened would be great. only happened in three frames.

Sequence Outputs

Hi,

I'd like to chime in here a bit to say that I've experienced similar results when exporting targa or tiff sequences. However, everything looked fine in Redcine.

Best,

Image problems...

Image problems...

Picture 9 (the light one) could be chroma without luma (luma at full?), or the brightness set to high in the luma, maybe changing the output type or grading sliders and re-booting might give a different result, unless the R3D has issues? There is some luma in the JPG but mixed with the chroma, there seems to me more chorma than luma so what luma there is may be a JPG artifact. Having the contrast very low could also cause this sort of look, but I could not get a good image back from the JPG as it is.

Picture 8 shows a grid pattern, that is typical of bad resize somewhere along its path here. or error in the luma scale factor?

Neither of these are exported tiffs or targas. The one without the grid is a screen capture straight from red alert. the other a screen capture of the prores render.

ian to cleary say something..i have to see that girl dancing :)
HAHAHA sorry no can do for the moment.

Yes this is an issue with the R3D file. not a grading problem. it is just three frames in the middle of the clip. to give you an idea, Here is a frame from the rest of the file.
