Does anyone know what battery plate mount this is? I've been trying to find a way to attach a Switronix V-Mount battery plate that Wooden Camera sells to rails and I find this to be an elegant solution. The photos are from Tom Lowe.

It's an IDX Plate with the Element Technica speedy clamp. Look at the options here: http://elementtechnica.mybigcommerce.com/EPIC-battery-mounting/

But I suggest not doing it mounted that way. I had it that way for a while when I first got my epic and I wasn't crazy about it. The cable just got in the way and made the camera top heavy for counter balancing on smaller heads. My suggestion is getting a universal mount from wooden camera and mounting the battery plate of the back of the mount. You then add either 8" or 12" rods on the top (depending on adding the Pro IO module) and the batter plate hangs off the back. It allows you to keep the camera slim and tidy. In the picture I attached you'll see that I have 12" rods. They really are too long and so that's why I've got 8" rods on order. But when the Pro IO comes out, 12" should be near perfect.

BTW, all the accessories on my Epic are wooden camera stuff. The only thing that's not is the rods (ET lightweight rods) and the base plate, which is the old ET Arri style.

That image you attached is exactly what I'm trying to do. I'll be using a Switronix battery plate from Wooden Camera. Does the universal mount attach directly to that in the setup you have pictured?

I am using the ET/IDX plate, so I am not sure what kinda screw holes your Switronix plate has, but the ET/IDX allows me to use a 1/4" screw to attach the plate from the inside onto the universal mount. I would think that your plate would probably have similar holes. The only thing I don't like is that the 19mm rods don't clear the battery, so the plate always has to be at the end of the rods.

Okay, I see. Would you happen to have a close-up photo of just the battery system on your rig's rails? :-)

If I were to mix this with the Wooden Camera V-Mount plate, would I need the battery mount or anything? Or could I just go with your back plate and then the v-mount back?

The plate is made by us(Switronix), so you could buy any backplate and buy our Epic vmount plate(#GP-S-EPIC10) through any of our dealers, as well as buying the vmount plate separately through Wooden Camera.
