  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

What are you using for haze?

Hi there. . .

I have an oil-based hazer by American DJ that provides a truly wonderful and very long-lasting (hours) haze effect. Unfortunately, it seems that most folks have moved away from oil-based hazer fluids to water-based options. Unfortunately, I have yet to see a water-based option for low price that even begins to compare to the look of my oil-based hazer. The water-based haze just seems to die off very quickly and have a cloud-like look that isn't what I'm after at all. I just want to see light beams in the air. . . not clouds.

So, what would you recommend?

I'm tempted to keep using my current hazer for the few times I really need it since it works incredibly well.

Thanks.

Stephen

Are you getting residue from the oil based one? Some oil based hazers have been banned from union sets due to safety issues as far as I know. DF50 from ReelFX uses food grade mineral oil and is generally accepted unless things have changed.

Chauvet Hurricane Haze 1DX. Safe and does a great job in large rooms.
