In the used Scarlet we bought and sent through Red for a check up and Ownership Transfer, the monitor screen inside the original Red EVF appears to have these faint, scratch-like markings "vertically" across the sensor, and is most apparent in the dark areas.

Is this normal?

These markings do not seem to appear in the large PC HD monitor we are using, but then again, it is not anywhere near as sharp as the EVF.

The EVF has not been damaged, nor has the eyepiece been rubbed the wrong way.

The camera's sensor is also in excellent condition.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks for your time.

could be from someone opening up the unit and attempting to clean around the LCD screen, or it could be from stress perhaps some how the screen got twisted just a little, or something over tightened on it, or it could just be from time heat and hours on the LCD panel can do it too. I've seen this on many units before, across all sorts of EVF's. And it's always just in the EVF, never on any recordings, or any other imaging path

Oh, so you're saying the problem could ONLY be with the EVF, "not" the sensor or camera itself? Do I understand that correctly?

If true, then I can breathe again. ;)

Thanks.

Yes if you're not seeing it anywhere else its likely it is just the EVF and not your sensor. I would record a little bit of footage where you see it on the EVF and inspect the footage on a monitor at full resolution. I suspect you will not see anything and you'll feel relieved.
