I have an old Red ONE with PL mount. With the kind of shots I want to do, I need long-range zoom lens. But it's kind of expensive to rent those. So I'm thinking of getting some sort of adapter to mount Canon (or Nikon) zoom lens. What kind of adapters can I possibly use? (And inexpensive)

Allstar A-mount, Optitek Prolock, and RED's nikon mount made by Doug Underdahl.

Allstar gives most flexibility as you can get various adapters to mount to it's system, so makes swapping lens with different mounts very easy. Optitek is very solid Nikon mount as it uses a positive lock style system. The Red mount is good but it uses the standard nikon mount, so some lenses may not be as tight as you want, depending on what you are shooting. Any of them will get you up and running with Nikon lenses and your Red One.

My vote goes to AllStar. All my cameras are equipped with this mount so I can go between PL, Nikon lenses in a matter of seconds and don't have to deal with screws and different mounts.. Adapters are also available for a number of other lens platforms.

There are two versions of my "original" Nikon mount for Red One. The second version uses a stainless steel locking ring. and it works very much like a PL mount for Nikon lenses. Red Cine has them.

Can u send me to a supplier in or near Hollywood, I would love to get one
