  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

What about a 25-250 zoom ?

" heard some rumours that angenieux is planing to build an new line of "red" lower cost lenses"

at the NAB Angenieux booth - a rep saw my RED neck reservation tag and he stated that they were thinking of making some lens for RED .. i told him about RED lens & price - as he was shaking his head ( as in NO) , he said they could never come any where near those prices but their lens would be hi quality ...
hinted that at red prices they (red) can't deliver quality lens ...

One has to understand how they think: the angenieux zooms have better stops and/or better ranges than the red ones.

while the red camera surpasses its competition -and- is cheaper, the red lenses technical specifications are good, but the competing lenses specifications are better -and- more expensive.

we have moderns sony hdcam and older arri 35mm cameras and the red one is the logical step up. lenses we have 5.3x10F1.9, 7.8x26F2, 25x10F3.2, two Zeiss prime sets (one the 1.2/3) and i have no reason to invest in red optics (so far). Heck, i am even considering reactivating our old 5.9x6F1.6 for 2k/1080 60p recording with the red :)
