  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

We've had our RED for 3 months

You have a really good eye.

Owning a Red is a wonderful thing - this will become even more obvious as time goes by (my experience).

Welcome to the club, and good luck with your future.

One comment: get rid of the Coke shot - it comes off as lying as no way you were given a Coke commercial to shoot while still in college. If you want to shoot food and demo that, use just glasses with things in them, or other food, but no brands. Besides, food photography and cinematography has to be fun and inventive, not just technically correct. make thinsg tumble and drip and move in new ways you have not seen before, and then people will stand up and notice. (I don't do food, but I have hired people who do.)

Really great stuff. You might want to cut it down a bit because the repetition (of the same projects) starts to show and leads one to believe that is ALL you have ever worked on. Whether that is the case or not, I don't think you want to give off the perception that you've only worked on a few things. But really work fantastic for a mere 3 months.

Looked nice. The slow-mo waves shot at 2:07 seemed out of place (too slow, given the music).

Thank you for all your comments, guys! They are much appreciated.

All of the shots were shot on Nikon glass; the (:11-:19) was shot on a Nikon 50mm 1.8f

Yeah, the coke commercial needs to go. It has certain sentimental value, it was the first test shoot with the RED! Over the past few months we have gained significantly more footage that we plan on using in the reel. But again, your comments are very encouraging to a few guys just starting out ;)

Thanks again,
Drew
