I came across something strange today that had me really concerned - I recorded some test footage on a gimbal and noticed that one of the frames had a ton of dead pixels in it. I loaded to the computer at the same timecode and they were not present in the image. What is going on here? I was doing a very high compression and high ISO since it was just test footage, could the settings have anything to do with it? Screen shot from red monitor compared to screenshot from redcine below

Playback is about 1/4 resolution at 1080 and probably not full resolution either.

Oh. I did not notice all the black dots center frame at first. Does it happen at lower iso? On all clips? Could it be the touchscreen?

Yes, rolling back firmware is the same procedure as upgrading.

I have had a similiar experience where on multiple playbacks in the camera on the same frame in the same position I saw a similiar but smaller artefact that never then reappeared in RCX or in the final output via Resolve. This was a few months ago on a Weapon CF and it has not happened since. No explanation.

Thanks for posting!! This makes me feel slightly better

They couldn't find anything on the logs and it was an isolated issue not appearing on any other of my mags. Recommendation is to update firmware.
