I know you should never ask a lady such a question, but I would love to know, as someone who does a lot of handheld camerawork, what ballpark we are in. would this work on a Fig Rig for say twenty minute takes, or would a shoulder mount be a necessity?

That's a good question. I guess they actually have to wait until they stuff it with the real wires and things. The metal body gives the impression of putting it on the heavy side. Plus the handles and other things you to have hang from it will add a few ounces. It also seem to be a little awkward to hand hold and do manual focusing with just those handles. Is wait and see time.

Lets make it out of carbon fiber instead... it'd look wicked as hell.

Jim said it would be sorta heavier than other cameras its size. I'm not all to concerned about weight. It looks small enough that it can't be too hard to hand hold.

I was actually quite confused as to how one would use a shoulder mount on the Scarlet, or if that was even an option. TBH, I'm quite a newbie here on the forums (as evidenced by this being my first post) and to digital video in general, so I've been trying to learn by absorbing information. That spider brace shoulder mount looks quite affordable and useful. Looking at photos of the prototype scarlet mounted with side grips, I really wasn't sure how one would get a stable image out of that. Does image stabilization come standard with Scarlet/Red One?
