Weight Limit on Top Handle?

Does anyone know if there is a weight limit on the single top handle that RED sells? http://www.red.com/store/790-0010

My setup is approaching 35lbs and I'm not sure if I should be doubling up with the top handle extention.

I suppose if I have to ask then I should just error on the side of caution, but maybe I'm being a bit overprotective of my new toy.

Top handle extension should be a must for you. It's not only the weight - its the leverage that makes the top handle without extension vulnerable.

What Leif said! The single top handle puts massive leverage on just two bolts with very little handle metal around them at the mating surface. And most top handles (except the very early one which were machined) are cast aluminium which means when the fail, they fail with a snap - no chance of stopping the camera hitting the deck!

Which is why I purchased the extension along with the camera and have had it setup that way since day one. Too much bling to ride on the hope that those two screws would be sufficient to handle the stress of all the yanks and slings.

Thanks, everyone. This is exactly what I felt/thought as well, but with my boss giving me the 5th degree on every single purchase (even the little ones) I had to make sure.
