Website hosting? (wix, carbonmade) - that HOSTS videos (Instead of vimeo, YTube).

Hi there,

I'm looking for a website builder / hoster that allows hosting of videos. Most of them simply allow a link to vimeo or youtube but I want to host the videos on the site myself (as I don't actually own the material in some cases I am concerned about uploading stuff to youtube without permission etc) - IE: the site has all the video embedded.

I think carbonmade seems to allow this (although the vague language used on these sites to describe their video upload process is hazy at best).

Does anyone have any suggestions for good website makers or template builders that might allow this - or is it straight into HTML 5? It seems incredible that it's not offered.

Most shared web hosting services are not going to host video files because of bandwidth constraints. I recommend using a Content Delivery Network (CDN) and a video player like Sublime Video to embed self hosted videos on to your website. Then you'll be able to use any host you want. I use Rackspace CDN for all my self-hosted video files. Based on my current data and bandwidth usage I only page $2 a month.

I was going to say good luck to you trying to get answers around here James, but Chris has come up with an answer.

Have a look on Wikipedia, in the past people have put up lists of internet services companies in tables with services offered.
