I was recently hired to shoot this demo for Adams Arms after they saw some of the other stuff that I shot on my RED camera. Its a demo of their piston system for the AR-15. The video is a mix of 4K, 3K and 2K and was shot with the Nikon 80-200mm zoom. The only problem I had was when I was recording sound. I had a hum in channel one that I only noticed when I got home and was looking at the footage. Also the end shot I was getting a lot of reflection off the hot mirror because of the angle of the sun. But I still think it works. Here are the clips.

Completely awesome. The footage holds up perfectly at 1080. And once again, backlight rules the day.

Drew, btw, you should watermark this stuff.

I would watermark it if it was just going to be on my site but Adams Arms is linking to it and its their product. I might watermark it with their symbol.

I imagine it's easy to sue people in the US if they use your footage, but overseas might be difficult.

Very cool video. Guns are fun to watch in 120fps.

well nice video but guns are something that
I'm against...I wouldn't like to sound political
but promoting such products is against humanity
whatever the quality of the work...

I'm with u Pajo, I don't get the fascination.

I know it is my constitutional right but I rather have some kind of missile. Hey fuck off it is my constitutional right.

Absolutely beautiful!

You might not get the fascination because you've never gone out shooting before. Maybe you have gone shooting and it really just wasn't your thing. I really enjoy it and I compare target shooting to playing golf. Its a skill to put bullets on target and it really tests you. Plus its fun and you feel better afterwards...or at least I do. Also knowing about firearms doesn't make you fear them. Without that fear there you can make better and more informed decisions about firearms.

Pajo, I'm sorry that you think that guns are products against humanity. But at humanities current state of evolution they are needed. That's just how I feel. I would like to see humanity evolve past where we are now, to a point where we wouldn't need weapons to defend ourselves against other people. But even if we were there I would still go out and shoot targets.

Glad you liked it Shawn. I got a kick out of that full auto uzi stuff you posted a while back.

thanks man, that was just me dicking around at the range, what you've got here is pure sex! Full auto shooting is such a high.

the backlit stuff is beautiful, but sex ? I don't know...

Full auto is a high. I only got to shoot one mag while we were out there but now I have to figure out how to get one. Or at least be friends with someone that has a full auto M16 lower receiver.

I do get the fascination.

Since a friend of mine almost shot me in the head while playing around with dad's gun I clearly stay away from those "toys".

This footage shows very well the incredible force of guns. Well done (honestly meant).

Nevertheless, such footage reminds me that in the US over 1.500 kids between 18 and 19 get shot and the yearly number of rougly 30.000 killed citizens of all ages is almost a town. I don't know the numbers but in the Iraq war did'nt die equaly many US soldiers yet?! In this regard one can assume that there must be a civil war inside the US.

Here in Germany (85 million inhabitants) approx 3.500 get killed by a car accident and about 1.300 by weapons. I know that 3.500 deaths in the traffic are not good either but are guns a neccessity, for kids, mums and dads? A society makes an oath of disclosure if guns are really needed for self-protection.

But what would hollywood be if there was no easy access to guns in the US? Many plots rely on the power/danger of the equalizer everyone can have. But transfering such plots into eropean settings seems quite over the top or just a cheesy copy.

Looks like guns are an undispensable part of the US-American culture - with a unbelievable high price.

don't worry my decision about firearms is pretty informed...

I can not judge your taste about guns...
because it's a part of your idea about the world...if you
think guns are needed that's your problem and I won't get
into the discussing it with you...you must have had that
discussion many times in your life...

however promoting those
ideas or your taste in terms of advertisement is something
questionable...and it's wrong...for me it's a crime against
humanity...
therefore I find this thread offensive, but at the same time,
useful to test Red's visual abilities yet another time...
that's all I want to say...

Uh, it looks like you can own a Red and be stupid... This isn't the America I like... This kind of video isn't worth watching... Buy a poetry book instead, if you can read of course.
