  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Just read the DSMC Weapon Manual, no 4K SDI or HDMI for the weapon? Or is that just for now will future expanders allow it?

the ability to monitor 4k on set, would be amazing!

Jarred, when shooting 4K prores do we get an image from full 6K sensor area packed into 4K files?

And maybe I missed this but is the 4K prores option a carbon only thing or magnesium too?
 
Now if Red could give me a free upgrade to Weapon 8K I would be eternally grateful :biggrin:
 
Overall the manual reads much clearer. Congrats on that! Hopefully people will actually read it instead of asking stupid/obvious questions on Reduser as we've seen in the past!

Not to be negative...but I am surprised there isn't any 4K monitoring out of the camera as yet. Limited to 1080P on both HDMI and HD-SDI. For Red -who has led the charge for 4K+ recording and viewing- this is a strange one, especially with all the new monitors available, and updated horsepower. Maybe this will come in a new firmware?

I totally agree- weapon needs a 4k monitoring output. If the Sony A7s can do it via HDMI...
 
But how would 4K HDMI play with the wireless video choices we have (Teradek, Paralinx, etc) ? Do these even support it? I assume 4K monitoring would required a tether, which in many cases is not convenient.
