On the weapon platform is it possible to monitor out a 1080i signal? Via SDI

Example:
project rate 23.98
monitor output 1920x1080 INTERLACE 29.97 (59.94 fields/s)

I work in a lot of broadcast environments, in most cases monitors and equipment down stream only accept 720p or 1080i. Primarily an issue with monitor / viewfinder setups on jibs, steadicam, speciality rigs, video return confidence monitors. On the Epic we switch to 720p out, but then other people down stream bitch about a soft image, it "appears scaled," or focus puller wants 1080 to better evaluate focus.

Thanks

David,

You could consider a conversion box that either BM and AJA make and convert the signal to PSF? Just be wary of the conversion adding a delay as this will make the focus pullers job tough

I'd recommend grabbing a Teradek COLR - also gives you realtime color correction control besides allowing you to output PsF (I) or cross convert across many formats.

I like Dan's idea. Whether you choose the Teradek COLR, or some other LUT/cross-conversion box, it sorts most display incompatibility issues and gives you a color management opportunity that you, or some of your clients, may find very useful.

Now if we could just get live UHD/4K output...

With the Teradek COLR, or Offhollywood OMOD, you can also calibrate the display it is plugged into using a 3D LUT. It is an AWESOME 33x33x33 LUT box and low priced for what you get.
