  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Just finished a 3 days shoot. During this time I got this error, 2 times, randomly after cutting and trying to preview:

"Error Loading Clip" and the camera refused to enter Playback. Even after recording a new clip. The camera was running, just finished recording a clip. WC V-Mount back, full battery.

I was afraid I might get the "format media error" and loose footage, that did not happen, but this error freaked us up still.

After eject media and reboot all went back to normal.

I've shot 2 feature films with my Epic before the upgrade, never ever encountered an error like this.

Any of you had similar experience?
 
Hmmmm. Have you filed a support ticket with RED? Sure they'd love to see your log file. Help them peek under the hood and see what's going on with this error.

Not yet. Is the log file kept after the fact for long?
 
It's my view that the latest release build has issues. I have a magnesium. The latest release would not keep my camera powered on no matter what. Rolled back a version and everything is solid. Red found no errors in the log. This combined with keeping up w/ other users issues has led me to believe something is off in the latest release, i'd say use at your own risk.

Could I ask if you had many clips on the card after the Reboot?

I would create the log and share with Red ASAP, and with details of the actions in and around the point of issue.

Good to know. I will try rolling back for the next shoot to see how it goes.
 
My main issue was power related, but I had the dreaded mag not recognized error also and lost footage
 
This was about 2 months ago and everything is fine on 6.3.17, which is the version BEFORE the latest release.

First time happend in the beginning of a day with 10 clips on the mini mag.

The other one in the middle of the day with 40 clips on it. When it displayed the error, I could still record in live view and those clips were seen after reboot.
